Caroline, daughter of Clay and Charlene, graduated from Appalachian State University in 2005 where she was also Captain of the Division I Field Hockey team. As President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, she decided a career in sports administration was her objective and started an internship with the Charlotte Regional Sports Commission (CRSC). Following this dynamic internship, Caroline attended the University of Louisville to receive her Masters in Sports Administration.
While attending U of L, Caroline worked at the Louisville Sports Commission followed by an official graduate internship with Churchill Downs Inc. in the website marketing division. Post graduate school, Caroline took a full-time position as Assistant Marketing Director with the CRSC. After managing many projects and working with agencies to fulfill needs, Luquire George Andrews hired Caroline as an Account Coordinator.
Today, Caroline is in full swing with Smith Group Ltd., consulting various small businesses with strategic marketing plans to grow their businesses. This includes brand development, strategic digital planning, sponsorship development and fulfillment strategies, and much more.
Caroline enjoys riding horses, painting, and coaching field hockey with Carolina Field Hockey league. She serves the Board of the Appalachian State Former Athletes Association and is a member of the Outreach Committee at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
