As the Chief Management Officer for SmithGroup, Charlene is focused on maintaining SG Management’s footprint in the marketplace, as well as overseeing the company’s fiscal strength. Having spent two decades in marketing and account management, Charlene has worked with premier clients including BB&T, Le Cordon Bleu, National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), and Touchstone Energy.
Known professionally for her tenacity and tireless efforts, she is a corporation baby having lived in the metro areas of Kansas City, Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus (Ohio), and Memphis. After earning a BS from the University of Tennessee, Charlene went on to work for Goldsmith’s Department Stores and Ivey’s (now Dillard’s). As Director of Consumer Services for Whirlpool Corporation, she helped oversee the largest growth and expansion of microwave ovens in the company’s history, building one of the strongest brands in the U.S.
When she’s not at work, Charlene has a passion for antiques, furniture and gifts and is a licensed real estate broker and an interior designer. She and her husband have supported two children through college, one through graduate school, and one wedding.
